The Nekker races serves a much different purpose in Tir ná nÓg then in The World, being more akin to a servant race than the blight they are in The World. Colonies of Nekkers are usually adopted by townships and cities to serve as a servant class in exchange for food and protection from their natural predators the various Troll species.

Physiology[]

Nekkers in their base form look like short humanoids (They come up to about an average human man's waist) with loose pale leathery skin especially on the face where it hangs off the neck in a sort of wattle. They have slender arms that end in three fingers and a thumb, these digits end in long claws several inches long and razor sharp used for hunting and climbing. They have four clawed toes on each of their feet. Nekkers in Tir ná nÓg unlike their out of world counterparts wear clothes instead of loin clothes, the higher a Nekker's status the better the clothes they wear.

Nekker Warriors are larger than Nekkers and can be distinguished by their naturally red faces, claws and feet.

Phooca are alabaster white in color and approximately the size of a fully grown human making them the tallest of the Nekker variants, they have spines all along their back, a 'crown' of small horns along with a larger set of backwards facing horns approximately where a humans ears would be.

Societal Structure[]

In their native land of Tir ná nÓg, Nekkers are far more intelligent and docile, working together to complete tasks for their masters. A Nekker at the lowest level wears something akin to a burlap sack, while the highest Nekkers in a town or city such as attendants to houses of nobility wear utilitarian robes with only their face, feet and hands exposed.

Nekker Warriors do occur in Tir ná nÓg but they are usually voluntarily reported by their colonies and placed into military units for training and added to their country's military as officers to other Nekkers, where they are given great respect by the other Nekkers and other denizens. Nekker Warriors wear one of two uniforms, a military uniform with a white one with gold trim for the Golden Oak Forest Army or a brown with crimson trim one for the Night Ash Forest Army.

The Phooca is a type of Nekker purposefully bred by the Seelie and Unseelie courts to serve as palace guards, while their numbers are rather small they have much more respect than their Warrior cousins. The Phooca are utilitarian in their clothing choice, choosing to wear light armor as to not hamper their agility.
