Cedda

Vecceddaniternak, or better known as Cedda to most, is a golden dragon, who survived for a long period of time in the north. Cedda usually took the form of a powerful elven mage and warrior, interacting with the Aen Ghele of the Far North. In recent times she has befriended the witcher Ryvlyn of Sanzode, and joined his Grey Dragon Company he founded.

Biography[]

Early Life[]

Little is known about the early life of Vecceddaniternak. She was born several centuries ago and spent some time in the land of Zerrikania, where dragons were worshipped. However Cedda left and began to travel amongst the many peoples and races of the Continent. Thanks to her innate polymorphism abilities she was able to easily blend in with the peoples around her and Cedda started to favor the form of an elven warrior the most.

During this period of wandering Cedda would meet and fall in love with another dragon. Unfortunately, while away a band of humans and knights tracked down and killed Cedda's mate, causing her great grief. She withdrew herself from the world and travelled into the Far North. There, in the cold barren wastelands she dwelt for a long time in relative solitude, becoming a thing of legend among the Aen Ghele or Snow Elves that inhabited the land, with whom she had sparse contact.

Adventures with a Witcher[]

Cedda would roam around the Dragon Mountains from time to time in her elven form, and during one of this she met the traveling band of Rvylyn of Sanzode, the dwarf Brurclard, and the gnome Sadrick, who were travelling into the north. Cedda decided to join up with them as they headed further north. Accompanying them through the duchy of Vinland, Cedda would save the life of Duke Falmak and helped the group discover the ancient and snow elves. During this, she revealed that she was, in fact, a dragon.

Having grown close with her companions, Cedda chose to leave her isolation and would travel with Ryvlyn and his friends so a period, and returned to her period of wandering the Northern Realms. Cedda was a founding member of the Grey Dragons, and would go on to play an important role in the organization's future.

During the events of the so-called "Beast War" Cedda was an invaluable ally to Ryvlyn and the Grey Dragons as they faced the Beast King and his plans of conquest.

Following the disappearance of Lyn in 1280, Cedda wandered the world again, aloof and alone for the most part. She maintained contacts with the rest of the Grey Dragons, but assumed Lyn had finally fallen and mourned her friend. During this period she travelled further east, and returned to the lands of Zerrikania for a time. She returned in 1303 and resided with Sellandra. She would eventually meet with Lyn again in 1305, and would there after take up the position of godmother to Lyn's adopted children. By this point Cedda had established herself within the realms of Kovir, and found peace in her new home.

For the next several years Cedda remained largely stationary in Kovir, occasionally venturing out with her friends. The next few decades were largely peaceful for Cedda, who watched over the expanding family of her godchildren while enjoying the simplicity of the new home she had built in Kovir.

In 1350, Cedda fought with her friends against the Haak Invasion. The Grey Dragons were re-assembled and Cedda participated in numerous skirmishes against the Hak invaders, notably using her dragon form to devastating effect. Cedda would begin to have a more important role within the Grey Dragon Order, which during the invasion had expanded into a larger organization.

In the wake of the Second Conjunction of 1358, Cedda became the de facto head of the now expansive Grey Dragon Order, and over the decades served alongside Lyn in helping keep monster populations down. The Grey Dragons developed into an expansive monster-hunting organization. Cedda would become more nomadic during this period, but remained close to Kovir.

She was present at Lyn's death bed in 1534, and promised to continue to watch over the Grey Dragon Order. Although grieved by the loss of her oldest companion, Cedda has faithfully continued her job as the leader the Order, even into the modern day. Thanks to her ageless experience she has established a vast network of informants that work to keep the multiverse relatively stable and unaffected by each other.

Personality and Demeanor[]

Cedda is far older than most humans, and thus has a different view of the world, thinking and living long term. She possesses an aura of calm and wisdom, due to her experience, and is friendly and cordial to others, generally able to get along with most people. She acts with slow but deliberate grace and speaks in a generally refined manner. However, she can also be emotionally wounded and impacted by events for far longer than any regular human, dealing with numerous issues over her long years.

Physical Traits[]

Thanks to her natural magical abilities, Cedda is able to polymorph into practically anything. She normally an admittedly unique elven form, one with redish hair and deep green eyes and a fair face. She is best known in this form, though she could take many others.

As a dragon she is large and beautiful, a powerful dragon with golden scales capably of breathing streams of fire and soaring high above her enemies.

Abilities[]

Magic
- Cedda is an accomplished magician, having had decades and centuries to master her craft. She has a natural skill with many spells and magical formulas, although magic is not her central interest.
- Due to her nature has a golden dragon, Cedda possesses the ability to polymorph into a different form from her natural draconic one. She usually uses this ability to shapeshift into an elven form.
Knowledge
- Living for centuries has given Cedda an encyclopedia's worth of information, and she has first-hand experience of many different events and locations of note. Her extensive knowledge gives her a decisive edge and has proven a very valuable asset.
Weapon's training
- Cedda is a skilled swordswoman, who has trained with some of the best over her long life. She has fight in many different engagements, although she usually prefers to avoid fighting. Cedda is not the most skilled figher on the planet, but is very competent, having practiced for centuries.
